Sinmah Capital Berhad ("SCB") was incorporated as a private limited company on 26 May 1994 under the name of Iklim Sinar Sdn. Bhd. On 21 June 1994, the Company was converted to a public company and changed its name to Iklim Sinar Berhad. On 1 December 1994, the Company changed its name to Sinmah Resources Berhad and subsequently was admitted to the Official List of the Second Board of Bursa Malaysia Securities Berhad on 18 May 1995. Following changes made by Bursa Malaysia Securities Berhad, the Company is now listed on the Main Board of the Burse. On 11 July 2005, the Company changed its name to Farm's Best Berhad to take advantage of the popularity of the trademark "Farm's Best" as registered under the name of the Company's former subsidiary, Farm's Best Food Industries Sdn. Bhd. ("FBFI"), and to better reflect the Company's activities and ownership at that time. However, in 2016 the Company disposed off FBFI and had to change its name to its present name of Sinmah Capital Berhad on 1 June 2017.
SCB was founded by Mr Fong Chee Hiong over 40 years ago in the poultry breeding business. Since then, it has grown into one of the largest poultry integrated producers in Malaysia and is currently helmed by among others, the founder's four sons. Recently, the Group's management shifted its focus from being a poultry integrator and diversified into property development and healthcare activities. The shift in focus commenced with the disposal of FBFI in 2016. Subsequently, in 2017 and 2018 the Company disposed off almost all of its breeder and broiler farm lands and assets so as to unlock the value of those assets and to diversify into property development and healthcare activities. In 2019, the Company disposed off its feedmill assets and its Food Division operations are now limited to contract farming and trading of broilers, broiler feed and broiler day-old-chicks.
